The diamond list that follows is very different from the large diamond lists on Internet sites such as Blue Nile and Amazon.
People viewing this list are our customers or have been recommended by a customer of ours. Thus, is it is extremely important to us that anyone purchasing from this list gets the ideal diamond for their needs at the lowest price anywhere. A high level of satisfaction is the basis of the bond we have with our customers.
To this end, it is important to know a few facts about diamond lists. The large lists one sees on sites like Blue Nile are not lists of diamonds owned by that company. There are uploads from hundreds of Diamond Dealers. When ordering, there is no way to know where the diamond is coming from.
Where the diamond comes from would not be so important if the color and clarity grades were as highly accurate and universal as one is led to believe. However, this is not the case. There are many Gemological Labs in the U.S. and other countries. While all labs base their grading systems on the original system developed by the Gemological Institute of America, they place very different values on the same traits in diamonds. Thus a G color from Lab A is an I color from Lab B.
Even if a buyer decides to select diamonds from only one lab, there will still be variations as all labs employ many people. To compound this problem, there was a little reported scandal in recent years of payoffs at one of the most prestigious of these labs.
Another issue is categories. An H color may be almost a G color or borderline I color. A VS may be a black dot in the center of the diamond that can be seen, while an SI that is on the edge of the stone can be covered with a prong when set and be invisible. In this case, the customer would be getting a better deal on the SI diamond as it would cost less an look better.
What’s different about our list is the people behind it. Placing an order for a diamond on this list does not mean the customer will ultimately buy that stone. One of us will be taking that diamond out of stock and examining that stone while comparing it with others that are similar, and discussing options and choices with the customer. The goal is to be sure that the customer, not a nameless Diamond Cutter comes out ahead on the deal.
Our motive in working this way is obvious to customers that know us. They know how important our customers are to us and how personal the relationships are.
All diamonds listed are no always available as they may be out with other customers and dealers, but there are always other good choices.
